Sándor Kányádi (10 May 1929 – 20 June 2018) was one of the most famous and beloved contemporary Hungarian poets and translators from Transylvania, Romania. He was a major contributor to Hungarian children's literature, and from 1960 until his retirement in 1990 he worked as editor and writer at the children’s journal entitled “Napsugár.” Throughout his life, he was actively involved in cultural life.
