Acquisition of the Jazz Section Collection by the Institute of Contemporary History

In 1991, Vilém Prečan, a historian and director of the Czechoslovak Documentation Centre for Independent Literature, transferred a collection of documents he had collected during his life in exile in Germany to the Institute of Contemporary History of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. The collection was later supplemented by materials which were brought to the Institute by Karel Mašita in 2004, and the collection was put together a year later.
