Glas Koncila [Voice of Council] is a Catholic weekly newspaper that was launched in 1962. At the beginning it was a newsletter printed on a cyclostyle, reporting on events at the Second Vatican Council. Later it became the only Catholic newspaper throughout Yugoslavia, and during the communist era it was the only printed newspaper that was not under the control of the Communist Party of Croatia and Yugoslavia. It expressed opposition to the ruling socialist ideology and the one-party regime from the Christian point of view. One of the leading journalists of this newspaper was in fact Smiljana Rendić in the 1970s and 1980s. Apart from publishing the newspaper, Glas Koncila has also published books, primarily religious literature.
