Steffen Mensching was a member of 'Karl's grandson'(Karls Enkel). He studied journalism and cultural studies. In the early 1990s, together with the songwriter Hans-Eckardt Wenzel, he founded the duo Mensching & Wenzel, which became known with socially critical and philosophical cabaret programs. Mensching was one of the authors of the resolution of 'rock musicians and songwriters', which he also announced at the beginning of his events. He was also joinging the Ulk band 'Schnaftl Ufftschik'. Steffen Mensching is currently primarily active as a writer and theater maker. He is a member of the PEN Center Germany and since 2008/2009 director of the theater Rudolstadt.
