In 1997, thanks to the initiative of Włodzimierz Staniewski, Gardzienice Centre established the Academy of Theatre Practices - an educational and training institution for young artists, actors, and directors. The Academy grew into one of the most important centres of Polish avant-garde theatre and serves as a place of exchange of ideas, networking and creating new spectacles.
