The Orange Alternative Foundation was established in 2007 in Warsaw. Waldemar Fydrych, its founder and the president of the management board, is the historical leader of the Orange Alternative movement and the main promoter of its heritage, while Agnieszka Couderq holds the position of vice-president of the board. In practice, the functioning of the Foundation relies on the activities of these two persons.

The Foundation’s aim, apart from promoting social, cultural, and artistic activities, is to continue the actions of the Orange Alternative through i.a. supporting talented creators and social activists, promoting and supporting ecological initiatives, and taking part in any socially-oriented activities, including those in the area of broadly defined culture. In practical terms, the Foundation organises exhibitions and publishes books dedicated to the Orange Alternative and, most importantly, runs the virtual Museum of Orange Alternative.

The Foundation does not have a stable income or any budget; instead it relies on voluntary work of its members. Nonetheless, some of the activities, e.g. organisation of the Museum of the Orange Alternative, benefited from public funding, such as National Audiovisual Institute’s “Digital heritage” programme and subsidies from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
